We are often asked if the 150 watt sealed beam units can be fitted to Escort RS PODs.
One of our customers has kindly sent out the following information as to how to fit these 150 watt Sealed Beam Units to Escort RS POD's........ Many thanks Ian.
Hi I have fitted the lamps to my escort RS 2000 Mk 2 and they do fit with the following mods: 1) Remove the original RS droopsnoot inner lamps. 2) Obtain a set of RS droopsnoot outer lamp mounting rings complete with the outer chrome ring. These are required as the original cibie lamps have the fixings on the lamp itself along with the adjusters. The outer lamps have a sperate mounting arrangement. (This mod needs to be done if fitting new cibie lamps as the new cibies dont have the mounting brackets/adjusters. 3) Modify one of the slots in the inner mounting ring to accept the new Dayliter. One of the rectangular holes needs to be elongated by approx 10mm so that the dayliter sits down flush on the inner ring. The outer chrome ring can then be fitted with 3 small self tappping screws. 4) Fit the lamp into the frame on the front panel as normal. The lamps are then fitted securely with the adjusters for alingment. The outer cowling can then be fitted and the lamps look like they have been installed from new. I cant wait to see what the light is like at night now!
Hope this helps if anyone else asks about this conversion.
Regards Ian
